BRAND NEW FOR 2024...

SATURDAY 6TH JULY

ENTER SMUGGLERS BAIL OUT

You and your fellow rum runners have spent the last few years making contacts and importing only

the finest contraband from the far corners of the globe into the county. Using your knowledge of the

nooks & crannies of the North & South Cornish coast line to avoid customs, you have stealthily

transported it across the bleak Moors to The Jamaica Inn before distributing it within your network

of couriers. You’ve made a name for yourself, but at what cost…

As you share a late breakfast with your fellow rogues, a rider on horseback gallops into the courtyard, nearly losing its footing on the cobbles, ‘The Preventative men are coming!’ cries the messenger! The kings men, armed with muskets & blades are descending upon the Inn, intent on holding you to account.

Scoundrels & Bootleggers, grab your essential belongings and take to the hills, lest you end up

swinging by the neck at his majesty’s pleasure. No time to saddle the horses, the customs men are

bearing down on the Inn, you must flee!!

The Smugglers Bail Out!

Escape from the government men descending on The Jamaica Inn and run for your lives!

Two distances to choose from, 4 hour Scoundrel or 8 hour Bootlegger, which are you?

Using public rights of way, with a noon start, get as far away from the Jamaica Inn (as the crow flies) as possible in your allotted time.

The top finishers in each distance will gain legendary status and be crowned as the top Rum Runners 2024.

One hour after the set off, a handful of determined preventative men will head off in pursuit..

You will be issued with a GPS tracker linked to a live feed which will be monitored from Race HQ

based at the Jamaica Inn.

You are not permitted to use any form of transport and must not trespass on private property. (See Rules below).

You are allowed a support team & at the end of your allotted time you are responsible for making your own way to your final destination.

Anyone ‘Caught’ by the preventative men will be allowed to finish their challenge, but their name will be listed as ‘incarcerated’

This event is in support of East Cornwall Search & Rescue Group with optional donations on entry.
