What a year 2021 was...

22 events, thousands of runners, a hundred or so pooches, over 299 miles of trail, so endeth 2021.

Covid did its utmost to scupper things right from the off, causing us to postpone all we had planned for January, February & March. We couldn't get our trail running ball rolling until 10th April with another outing to Tehidy Woods. This was made all the more interesting by a tree that decided to faint right across the trail some 15 minutes before we set everyone off. Personally I think it was the squirrels in a deliberate act of Sciuridae Sabotage after I refused their unreasonable demands for an extortionate volume of nuts and berries in exchange for a free pass at Tehidy.

We revisited some of our favourite haunts in 2021...Cardinham Woods, Haldon Forest, Tehidy Woods, Scorrier House, the South West Coast Path and the Saints Way, but 9 of this years events were new. We introduced Siblyback & Tamar Lake, the Coast 2 Coast Copper Trail between Portreath & Devoran, the Lobster Lollop along the Camel trail, the Readymoney Ramble, The Ricochet and the Saints & Smugglers 100 Mile challenge. The latter incorporating the Polruan Shuffle, the Boscastle Scramble & the Smugglers Way.

All of theses venues and races we will revisit in 2022, but we wanted to introduce something new for you next year. Starting with the Coast to Coast Copper Trail Noir on January 15th at 5pm. (12 Miles, Devoran to Portreath at night).

We also have the Trilateral 40 on April 2nd (40km, Fowey - Helman Tor - Gribbin Head - Fowey).

We have a couple of other surprises for you coming in the New Year, but we are not giving you those now, it's not Christmas...

Whether its a 2.5k fun run, 57 mile Ricochet or any of our other distances in between, there is one thing that genuinely makes us smile...and that is you crossing the finish line.

We see you cross the line in a variety of different ways, some are calm and composed, others are vomiting, some are smashing their PB, some are in floods of tears, but most of the time, you make it across that line. That's what we want, yes some of our events are easy and some not so, but whatever the distance, whatever the challenge, we want you all to achieve it.

For us, there were many highlights in 2021, and I'm not just talking about Banana flavour Angel Delight...

You ran in all sorts of weather- torrential rain, air temp of -2, baking heat, hail, howling winds...the only thing we didn't have this year was snow (fingers crossed for one of the January or February events!)

Certainly for us though, the success of our repeated & new events alike, coupled with the return to some of the Forestry sites, has us looking forward to 2022 and all that it is promising to be!

Lots of  imagery from a wonderful year of events can be found on our Facebook page. Go on, have a look...

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and we wish you all the very best for 2022!

Thank you for your support in 2021!
