The Saints Way Challenge

ENTER SAINTS WAY CHALLENGE 2024


A supported, 28 mile self navigation exercise starting out from the seafood capital of Kernow, Padstow, following the way-marked Saints Way Trail south through Cornwall's stunning interior, before finishing in the heart of charming

Fowey on the South Coast.



You'll tackle the 'dreaded cornfield', breeze across Breock Downs, scramble up Helman Tor & pass through stunning countryside, hidden valleys & quaint hamlets along the way.


We will have 3 checkpoints along the route for you, where our happy, smiley staff will welcome you in & ensure you are fully stocked with fluids as well as salt, sugar & savoury snacks.


Each Checkpoint will have it's own cut-off time & the event overall has a cut-off time of 10.5 hours


Event timings:


  • 0700hrs - Challenge start.
  • 0907hrs - CP1 Closed ///engraving.something.brain (No parking for spectators)
  • 1212hrs - CP2 Closed ///corrupted.hormones.overpaid  (Lanivet Community Centre) Toilets here. Spectators welcome
  • 1447hrs - CP3 Closed  ///bypasses.toys.camcorder (No parking for spectators)
  • 1727hrs - Finish Closed ///rejects.playoffs.wrenching (No Parking at all) Public car parks nearby. Toilets & refreshments here. Supporters welcome




There is an optional extra minibus transfer back to Padstow from the finish, please book this option when entering the event.


All runners will be issued with a GPS tracker & will be required to check in at ALL checkpoints as well as the finish.

(Even if you don't plan on stopping, please make sure the Checkpoint staff see your bib number as you go through)


There is a mandatory kit list for this event & all runners will be subject to a kit check

at race registration in Padstow.


-GPS Tracker / link to live feed (Issued at reg)
-Whistle
Hi Vis top / kit bag or reflective strips for safety

-Compass (Phone app or watch acceptable)
-Foil Blanket/Survival Bag
-Lightweight Waterproof top (can be wearing)
-Long trousers / running leggings or tights (can be wearing)
-Hat (can be wearing)
-Chocolate bar or nutrition.
-First Aid Kit (plasters, wipes, tape)
-A minimum of 1 litre of fluid.
-A spare lightweight warm long sleeved top clothing (in a waterproof bag)
-A fully charged working mobile phone.
-Paper with your name and your NOK mobile number written on it (in a waterproof bag)
-£20 Cash (Emergency spends)
-Collapsible/reusable cup

-Portable phone charger/powerbank



~ The kit list is there for your safety.  We expect to see every bit of kit listed, with you at kit check


All runners will receive an event medal and we will have awards for the top 3 male & female finishers!


Minimum age for this event is 18


This is also Stage 4 of the Saints & Smugglers 100 Mile Challenge!


This event is in support of the Children's Hospice Southwest and charity places are also available
